I, Tonya (2017) directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Steven Rogers.
starring Margot Robbie (also a producer), Sebastian Stan, Julianne Nicholson.

The movie follows the life and career of figure skater Tonya Harding, with particular focus on her connection to the 1994 attack on her rival and Olympic team mate Nancy Kerrigan. 

Great things have been said about Margot Robbie’s acting in this movie, which is why I’ve finally decided myself not only to watch it, but also to review it as an opening to the 2018 Ciak Movies’ winter movie season. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the reading. 

The movie is a combination of fake interviews (made on the path of real ones) and a number of flashblacks which impulse the developement of Tonya’s incredibile story. Tricky and funny… who didn’t enjoy the old ma’s brutal behaviour? We laugh, even though the story is tragic. 

Margot Robbie is mezmerizing ! Funny, entertaining, sportive, messy, bitchy … whatever adjective, the former Harley Queen portrays the complexity of the true Tonya like anyone else could have done. Can we talk about her hairstyle? Please ! An award is in the air? Yeah, like a spry of fixer. 

Tonya’s husband or “what the fuck”: why is the girl so bond to this useless man? He hit her, he betrayed her, he even managed to break her career! In the whole lenght of the movie we are just like, “oh woman, kick him out”, but she didn’t. Huge mistake. …. acting? Pure ass hole. Wonderful.

Nancy’s attack. Gillespie portrays all the stupidity of the act. Ilarious. 

The quality of the movie: 2017 targed, even though it seems a movie made right out of the 70s. Pastel colors, fragmented images: a revised form of the old patter which differentiate itself form the conventional bio-pics. And of course, cloths, hairstyle and music, all adapted.

The only this that didn’t work is the fact that Tonya is banished form any competion in her sport. But this is what happened in real life, am I right?
